Confirmation code before certain actions

Before five rare actions selfdesk sends a code to your address, even while you are signed in. Doors are not among them.

Some actions are hard to undo or hand out a lot of data at once. For them, being signed in is not enough. selfdesk then sends an email with the subject Your confirmation code for selfdesk, and the action only runs once you enter the code.

| Action | Why | |---|---| | Setting or changing a password | Whoever sets the password has their own way into the account afterwards. | | Deleting a space | Cannot be undone. | | Disconnecting Stripe | Afterwards another Stripe account can be connected, and your members' payments go there. | | Downloading the documents for your accountant | The archive holds every member's invoices for one month. | | Exporting bookings as CSV | The file holds the names and bookings of all members. |

How it works:

  1. You start the action as usual.
  2. Instead of running it straight away, selfdesk asks for a code and sends it to your account's address.
  3. Enter the code. The action then runs.

What applies here

  • The code is valid for 10 minutes. If you cancel, nothing happens.
  • The email always goes to your account's address, not to the space's address.
  • Opening doors never needs a code. Being signed in is enough, in the app and on the web. Whether someone may open a door is still checked every time.
  • Codes before these actions have the same limits as signing in: a new one 30 seconds after the last at the earliest, at most five per hour. See The code from the email.
  • If you got such an email without starting anything, someone is signed in to your account. The email says what to do then.
