A product cannot be deleted
Once a product has been bought it stays. You take it out of the kiosk with the Active switch.
What you see
You try to delete a product and get Cannot delete with the sentence This product already has purchases. You can deactivate it instead so it no longer appears in the kiosk. Next to it stands Deactivate instead.
Why
Every purchase references its product. A deleted product would damage old receipts and invoices, and you have to keep those for eight years. That is why only a product nobody ever bought can be deleted.
What you can do
- Tap Deactivate instead. The product disappears from your members' kiosk at once.
- You reach the same result inside the product with the Active switch. On the web, Show inactive brings deactivated products back into view.
- If you want the same product at a different price, change the price on the existing product. Old purchases keep their price, so you do not need a second product.
- A product created by mistake with no purchases can be deleted normally.
