A door is marked red
The mark on a door tile is a battery warning from the Nuki lock. It arrives before anyone is left standing outside.
What you see
A door in the door list carries a mark and reads Battery low underneath. Nobody has complained, and the door still opens.
Why
The Nuki lock reports its battery as critical. selfdesk shows this clearly because a lock with a flat battery no longer opens from the app. The warning comes before that happens.
A member sees the same fact only as the short hint Battery low, please tell the operator. Percentages, the door sensor battery and the time of the last report belong to your door screens.
What you can do
- Open the door from the door list and read the Battery line and the Last reported line under Lock state.
- Replace the lock's batteries. That happens in the Nuki hardware, not in selfdesk.
- Check with Test Unlock afterwards that the door responds.
- If the door also reads Door sensor battery low, replace that battery too. Without a sensor selfdesk assumes the door is shut and locks without warning.
If that is not enough
A lock that reports nothing at all shows as Offline in the state line. Check in the Nuki app whether the bridge is reachable. If the app does something wrong: report a problem.
