Glossary

The words you meet in the app and on your invoices, each explained in one sentence.

• Open area

  An open area is a zone where you book a seat instead of a specific desk. The app shows you how many seats are still free, and it never names a desk number when you arrive.

• Receipt and invoice

  A receipt is created when you pay right away, for example for your open kiosk tab. An invoice is created when the month is billed. For one purchase there is always exactly one of the two, never both.

• Gross and net

  Gross is the price including tax, so the number you actually pay. Net sits underneath as a detail line and matters mostly if you claim the invoice as a business expense.

• Booking

  A booking is a desk or a room you hold for a period of time. In the technical layer the same thing is called a reservation. In the app you only see the word booking.

• Check-in

  The check-in confirms that you are here today. It counts the day against your allowance. It is a different thing from opening a door.

• Tab

  The tab is the sum of your kiosk purchases that are not paid yet. In the kiosk it sits as a bar above the products and can be settled in one payment.

• Fixed desk

  A fixed desk belongs to you permanently and does not have to be booked every day. It is out of the bookable pool for everybody else, including on days when you do not come in.

• Small business

  A space using the small business rule under § 19 UStG does not show VAT. Your invoices then carry no tax rate and no tax line.

• Allowance

  The allowance is the number of check-in days your plan includes at no extra cost. Once it is used up, every further day costs your plan's extra day price.

• Member and role

  You are a member as soon as you hold an active contract in a space. A role such as admin or owner is independent of that. You can have both, one of them, or neither.

• Company contract

  In a company contract several people of one company share a base fee and an allowance. Everybody keeps their own contract and their own role, but only the company's billing contact sees the amounts.

• Series

  A series is a booking that repeats by a rule, for example every Tuesday. That can be a desk or a room. It always needs an end, and it never reaches further than your space's booking window.

• Contract

  The contract is your subscription with a space. It sets what you pay and what is included. Without an active contract you cannot book.
