Problem

Motor blocked while locking

The bolt runs into the frame. Usually the door is standing slightly open.

What you see

After tapping Lock door the app reports Motor blocked, and the door is not locked.

Why

That message comes from the lock itself, not from selfdesk. It means the bolt tried to move and met resistance. Almost always the door is not fully shut and the bolt runs into the frame.

If the door has a sensor and the sensor reports it as open, the attempt is not even made. The button stays locked and next to it says Door is open. Without a sensor the lock proceeds with no warning, because whoever taps is standing right there.

What you can do

  1. Pull the door firmly shut and check that it really sits in the frame.
  2. Check whether something is in the way, such as a mat, a box or a door stop.
  3. Tap Lock door again.
  4. If it persists, look at the line above the button. If it warns about a weak battery, that is the more likely reason.
  5. Do not assume the door is locked. A failed locking leaves the space open.

If that is not enough

Ask your space first, and tell them the door stayed open.
